Although these are NOT the cheapest options, they are well-recommended starting points for beginners. If you’re looking for the absolute cheapest way to buy bitcoin in the UK, check out this guide. For more options, please check out the other sections on this page.

Coinbase
Coinbase

Coinbase is the easiest, quickest, and most popular way to buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Litecoin. Coinbase has over 10 million registered users across 32 countries and is perfect if you’ve never bought a cryptocurrency before.

If you click through the link above and signup, you’ll receive $10 of Bitcoin when you buy $100 of Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Litecoin. This can be across multiple purchases if you like.

GDAX
GDAX

GDAX (Global Digital Asset Exchange) is Coinbase’s own exchange. If you’ve already signed up for Coinbase, then you’ll have a GDAX account ready-to-go.

Just like on Coinbase, you’ll be able to buy and sell Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin. Unlike Coinbase, the fees charged are much lower (0.25% taker, 0% maker).

If it looks overwhelming, check out this video series by GDAX.

Binance
Binance

Binance is now the most popular and well-recommended cryptocurrency exchange, with over 6 million registered accounts. It’s easy to see why: they have over 250 trading pairs, low trading fees (0.1%), and no verification requirements (2BTC 24-hour withdrawal limit). If you’re looking to buy popular alternative cryptocurrencies, then you’ll probably find what you want here.
